Top 11 places to visit in Fujairah for an unforgettable Trip

The Emirate of Fujairah is a rather beautiful emirate whose landscape consists of a grid shape, high-rise buildings, and residential homes all in the same vicinity. It’s widely known that while you’ll want to visit other cities such as Abu Dhabi or Dubai, Fujairah city isn’t worth spending much time in because there are no tourist attractions. But don’t get us wrong; the emirate is quite unbelievable when it comes down to having various places to visit in Fujairah for an unforgettable trip.

Fujairah Emirate has the most underrated beaches in the United Arab Emirates. The northern part of Fujairah is ideal for those who prefer to go on a quiet vacation rather than one at a beach packed with teenagers and adults. For the water sports enthusiast, scuba diving here is out of this world. You get the chance to see several species of big fish that you usually don’t in Dubai but don’t let the sea creatures distract you from enjoying what else Fujairah Emirate has to offer! Although it’s mostly known for its sand and not much else, we can assure you that it does have more than sand! Do pay a visit to these unusual rock formations found between mountain peaks as well as these historic sites scattered throughout their desert mountains like these tombs over 2000 years old which are amazing ruins of an ancient civilization!

Here’s the list of the top 11 places to visit in Fujairah;

1.Al Aqah, Fujairah

Just 45 kilometers outside of Fujairah city is an authentic Emirati beach getaway that offers a wide range of activities – both land and water. Begin with horseback riding along the pristine white sand and then head to the sparkling water while snorkeling in search of beautiful aquatic life or dive down to swim alongside a school of dolphins. If you’re craving a break from the sun, stop by El-Barsha cafe for some ice cream, coffee, or tea as you watch young Emirati boys play football

in the sunshine and then end with dinner cooked over an open flame on “Snoopy Island.” For many holidaymakers, Al Aqah is known as “the Maldives on Speed,” because it’s accessible (as opposed to politically complicated nearby Maldives) and great for surfers and non-surfers alike. The Al Aqah beaches are certainly warmer than those in neighboring Oman (we know that because there were no windbreakers in evidence), but they stay cooler than places like Jumeirah beaches or Dubai’s beaches. Al Aqah is often considered to be the center of UAE’s scuba diving scene, even though it is located in the Arabian Gulf rather than the Red Sea. The coral reefs offshore in the Gulf of Oman are not on par with the Middle East’s famed Red Sea, but there is plenty of fish life to see..

2.Hajar Mountains, Fujairah

The Hajar Mountain range is one of the most recognizable features that decorate the landscape of Fujairah, UAE. The stark contrast between the mountain peaks and palm trees contrasts a vastly different frequency of scenery that many people do not associate with living here. The Al Hajar range is a mountain range on the eastern side of the United Arab Emirates and northeastern Oman, extending about 700 km from the Liwa Oasis southeast to the city of Sur. It begins in eastern Abu Dhabi and extends along the entire coast of the UAE through the Emirate of Fujairah to Ras al-Khaimah. It forms much of the border between Oman and its exclave, Musandam. Also called “Al Hajar Mountains”, “Oman Mountains” or just “Hajar” (an Arabic word meaning stone or rock), it is often considered part of Hijaz mountain ranges. Its highest peak is Shams, at 3,133 meters (10,279 ft)..

3.Al-Bidyah Mosque

The Al-Bidyah Mosque is located at a distance of 35 kilometers north of Fujairah city in the United Arab Emirates. It was built in 1345 and is reported to be the oldest mosque in UAE. The mosque consists of a small prayer hall with four entrances, decorated with arches and featuring ventilation openings and mihrabs (prayer niches pointing towards Mecca) that are placed longitudinally. This mosque was named after the small town that it borders and is said to be an example of Mamluke architecture with its arches, ornamental elements, and ventilation openings. From what historians believe today about this historic mosque, it is divided into four squares whose walls are draped over with domed ceilings. It also has a mihrab which points out to Mecca to help people draw in their line of prayer during Friday prayers or anytime they need to pray because there’s no doubt that most worshippers would want to pray to face towards Mecca at least once a day!
